COST

The world wide economy situation made all of us tighten our belts. Price is important and you may think that if you are simply comparing photographers by price it should make things relatively easy!
Unfortunately it is not quite as simple as that unless you have tracked down an hourly price for  each photographer!
Many photographers lure their clients with big packages of prints, slide shows, other extras and so on. Wonderful you may think! However, 'more' does not necessarily mean 'better'! It is quality you should be looking for, not quantity. What good are 300 photos when you really only like 20 of them?
True professionals only shoot about 35 'good' photos per hour - that puts the photographer who offers you 300 prints per hour into perspective! Most couples only use actual prints these days if they want to frame a photo; The majority of couples these days prefer a fashionable coffee table book over a traditional album with photos, so a package with 300 prints is great, but then you have to find a place where to put them. If you want to get a nice album for your wedding photos, it will set you back a few hundred dollars, so that's not actually a saving but additional cost that most have not calculated.
Some photographers cost more than others - often for a good reason! The saying "You get what you pay for" certainly applies to photography, starting from the price of your photographer right down to the quality of your prints, photo books, etc.
Your wedding is special - period! If you want something really special for an important event, will you go to the local supermarket or buy at a delicatessen shop? It doesn't mean the Deli is necessarily more expensive but you WILL definitely get the better service and better products!
